Client, Are You Right for Me?
Finding clients is like dating; you have to be an excellent match for it to last.
My worst jobs often came down to the client and I mismatch. Every time a client was a great match, the jobs have earned me well past $10,000. When the client is a mismatch, I’m lucky to hit a few thousand dollars while I usually hate the job.
Find your dream clients to make more money and be happier.
Do you agree on ethics and morals?
If you and the client disagree on beliefs, you won’t enjoy working together.
While it would be ideal to keep ethics, morals, and politics out of contracts, they will influence how you and a client view each other. You don’t need to agree on everything, but you also can’t have opposing strong beliefs.
Do you enjoy talking to the client?
How well we do is often tied to how happy we are.
If you don’t enjoy talking to the client, you will regret working with them. Your lack of enjoyment will creep into how well you do your job.
