I think this is so true. It is so hard to give up on something we spent a long time or even to just stop trying to please others.

You bring up a lot of problems it would be nice to see our industry work on not having. I'm not ready to quit, but definitely working on saying no and setting better boundaries to have my career be what I want; not trying to please others only.
