Would you have any more tips on how deciding when to use italics, bold and some of the smaller formatting besides headlines and whitespace?

As a new writer that is one of the things I still struggle with figuring out when to use to help my writing.

If you would be willing to share some tips on that or ever write about that I would really appreciate it.
