Thanks for writing this. Other people really need to start thinking this way too. All the follow for follow articles or I earned X on Medium articles are making me want to leave the platform.

I also don't get the goal of these people focused on getting 100 random followers just to get in the partner program. if you get 100 followers that don't care about your content, they won't read it and you won't make money anyways.

Anyways hopefully after the initial deadline for current partners passes and this is old news this type of spam dies down on the site.
