Yea, I must be lucky so far that I haven't seen someone with all of these qualities. I'm hoping I didn't jinx myself lol.

I have seen the case of the smart dev that doesn't listen though. I worked with someone like that about 3 years ago. I think we didn't keep any of the code he wrote.

He kept aiming to make everything extremely flexible to any possible change and wouldn't listen to everyone saying those things were unlikely to change. The code was really clever and would have been perfect for other scenarios. It just wasn't right for the project needs and was overly complex for the project.

After he left no one wanted to maintain his code as it was a big pain to work with.
